My Sweet Sweet Boyfriend

My boyfriend snuck out of work this morning to drop off breakfast from McDonald's and half a dozen roses to me! He's such a sweetie - and a hard-worker too! :)

Guess what his reason was? -No reason. When you feel the need to act out in kindness, every time is a good time. And thoughtfulness (and creativity) does not have to saved for special dates or holidays. Even though we might not put emphasis on the little things (or forget), the little things do count. (Cliche moment) That's how to keep relationships fresh. Even though comfortable, do not slouch on your efforts in the relationship.

On another note, I love photography and hopefully after school I can dive deeper into my hobby. Eventually, I would want to invest in a SLR camera (from Canon! I'm a huge fan, hehehe) after I graduate nursing school. In the meantime I have a Canon PowerShot SD770 IS. I am very satisfied with my camera for all it's capabilities. It has so much to offer, but we just have to know how to use them. When I'm not pressed for time to point-and-shoot pictures, I do try to play with settings! :)

I previously posted about buying a waterproof camera from Olympus because it would have been cheaper to go about versus buying the waterproof case for my camera, but now it's a different story because it's on sale! :) From $240 (mind you, I bought my camera for approximately $200) to $99! A $140 savings! Now I wish I had extra money laying around to spend on that!

"Floating Garden", the Green Ecosystem

The Floating Garden concept was created by Duende Studio. The photos below is a limited edition prototype, but it will be commercialized for sale next year. This mini ecosystem is green and self-maintains. The waste from the fish is filtered through gravel/sand that turns into nitrate that the plants will use as food to grow. The water is returned to the aquarium clean and the cycle repeats.

This aquarium would also be great for my father-in-law who clean out the aquarium and accidentally kills his fish because of the remnants from the chemical cleaners!


Before I saw the floating aquarium, I always wanted this ever since I laid eyes on it from the Sky Mall catalogue because it was a self-maintaining (technically) aquarium. It was so expensive though... The average life expectancy is 2 years, but it can live as long as 10 years!

I love reading [e]books!

Drooooooools... The Amazon Kindle DX is simplistic, thin/sleek, light weight, wireless, auto-rotating, mp3 player, a reader of variety (books, magazines, newspapers, blogs) and much more! I'd like to get a hold of one of these. I wanted to use my Android/G1/Google phone to read ebooks, but I haven't found a decent pdf application to open my ebooks with :( If anybody knows of one, please inform me!

An alternative to the new Amazon Kindle DX is the COOL-ER from Interead. This ebook reader reminds me of an iPod with it's variety of (8) colors. These "will ship in early June" to the US. It does not have wireless, but it does support 8 languages. It has a lower price of $249 versus the Amazon Kindle, $359 or Amazon Kindle DX, $489.

Ohhh! Waterproof Camera for aquatic scenes!

If I had $200 laying around begging me to spend it, I'd get it on this! I love photography and anything related to pictures. Granted, most digital cameras have waterproof housing to encase them, but they cost as much as getting this!!! :x I looked into getting the cannon case for mine, but it was ridiculously expensive!!?!

I had a friend who brought her Olympus waterproof camera when we went swimming (in the night). We had fun taking pictures underwater! It was out of the ordinary/norm. :P

I like this geeky hard drive!

My career is in the health care industry and found this external hard drive too cool. It also has a vaccine software and can recover corrupted files! This definitely has to be hooked up to my pc because mine tends to get sick! lol.
